Sharing My Journey
Hi! My name’s Carolina and I’m the creator behind Beyond Maya.
Having felt the call to express my thoughts on life, spirituality, and the nature of reality, I created this space as a means to further explore, share, and deepen my understanding of Self with others.
It’s through sharing this information that I hope to be of some service as I know what it’s like to feel like there’s something missing or that there’s some sort of disconnect happening in our lives.
Because of that feeling, I’ve spent years of my life asking questions and searching for answers. Specifically, “who am I?” “Why am I here?” “What’s the meaning of it all?” And, “how can I make an impact that benefits not only myself but all those around me?”
It’s digging for answers to these questions and desiring to discover the root of all suffering that’s motivated me to read countless books covering a range of topics, from quantum physics and metaphysics to psychology, spirituality, self-healing and, ultimately, Self-realization.
It’s also what’s convinced me to learn from others and invest in a variety of books, workshops, courses, energy healings, and readings.
While I’m grateful for the insights, having learned helpful techniques and practices along the way, I feel all this learning, in many respects, has only kept the search alive.
The truth is, I had been looking outside of myself for answers when in reality all the answers have been within me all along.
And whatever you’re searching for is inside of you, too.
It’s my hope that you’ll soon experience the truth of this for yourself!
It’s only over the past few years or so that I’ve really sensed how we are so much more than our limited, ego personalities, or what some might refer to as the “small” self.
It’s only when we’re willing to see beyond this limited perception that we rediscover our True Self – one that is all-encompassing, infinite, and expansive in nature.
And this Self can only be experienced and discovered within.
This is the Self that I aim to expound on in this blog, as it’s what ties our understanding of life, reality, and collective higher purpose together.
When we’re able to perceive life from the standpoint of our True Self we’re able to see things from a higher vantage point. We’re essentially widening the scope or lens through which we view ourselves, the world, and reality.
This way of perceiving things is essential if we’re wanting to create and experience a life full of love, purpose, fulfillment, peace, and joy!
It’s also the way spiritual masters, mystics, and great thinkers have taught others to see the world over millennia, in order to awaken, self-realize or achieve enlightenment.
So, what do you think? Are you willing to open your mind to the possibility that there’s more to you than you’ve ever dreamed of?
If your answer is “yes” then I think you’ll like what you’ll find on this site.
Here I’ll be sharing useful insights, practices, and tools aimed to get you back in touch with your True Self.
It’s actually much simpler than you may think!
In fact, it’s usually the “thinking” mind that keeps us endlessly searching for answers, when in reality what we’re looking for can always be found within, in stillness.
Again, another person can only attempt to point out our innate nature. We must experience it for ourselves to grasp the truth of it.
Still, it seems part of the human journey is getting caught up in trying to figure things out so much that we sometimes end up missing the point entirely lol.
It’s not so much the information and techniques we have under our belt, it’s the wisdom that comes from taking that knowledge and actually perceiving things more clearly.
Because when we perceive differently, our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors change, which then causes the world around us to adjust accordingly.
So, while I enjoy using various practices such as meditation/mindfulness, visualization, breathwork, journaling/reflection, and the study of universal laws (such as the Law of Attraction), I recognize all these methods only help us to increase our awareness and quiet our racing minds so that we can open up to our intuition and inner knowing.
So try not to get lost in the techniques or practices used here to rediscover your True Self. Let them help you along but know that they are meant to gently remind you of something that you already know and are!
The truth is, the Self is simple. It is who we are at our most fundamental essence! We just have a tendency to pile on unnecessary resistance and overcomplicate it, causing us to muck up the waters of what would otherwise be a still, clear pond.
With that, find what resonates most with you as I’ve found we’re each discovering our truth in our own time. And every person’s journey in rediscovering their True Self is unique, and there’s so much beauty in that.
A helpful way to tell if something’s resonating with you is if it helps you to feel expansive, more at ease, or if you notice a positive change in your life experience.
When this happens, I suggest sticking with it and seeing where it leads you. Because, in the end, it’s not about getting somewhere but enjoying the journey. So have fun with it!
